Sculptures that emerge from material and feeling

Frieda Waanders is a Dutch sculptor primarily working in marble and bronze.
Her work develops through an intuitive dialogue with the material. The character of the material often guides the final form.
Her sculptures are characterised by flowing movement and a quiet tension within the mass, moving between stylized figuration and organic abstraction.
Alongside her autonomous work, Waanders also creates commissioned sculptures and monuments.
